Spanish folklore refined with french style meets the passion of Argentinian tango in this colorful and intense program. Don’t miss this outstanding ensemble performing “Southern Sounds” with music by de Falla, Piazzolla, Ginastera and Sarasate. An eclectic group of recent graduates of SF Conservatory will perform Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time (one of their signature works) as well as works by Harbison and Davidovsky.
January 29, 2012 Clerestory: Resolutions
An a cappella group of ten men, many of whom are experienced veterans of Chanticleer, will present a varied program of musical gems from many styles and centuries. Drawing from the best-received/favorite pieces of their first five seasons, the program will feature early Renaissance music, English choral music, and a focus on modern American composers, including Eric Banks, Paul Crabtree, and Steven Sametz.

One of Americas’s most exciting Baroque chamber ensembles returns with a program of classical and traditional music from the British Isles. In response to the acclaim of their recent recording, Dancing in the Isles, the group brings a new program of their own arrangements of toe-tapping dance tunes and chamber works from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Four highly accomplished musicians who have performed with the Bay Area’s finest orchestras and ensembles formed The Rhythm Sisters to inspire a love of music in children and their families. The result is truly interactive, informative, engaging and FUN. They will perform quartets by Mozart and Dvorak plus a polka thrown in for good measure.

Marina Harris, soprano, who performed the role of Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and Laura Krumm, mezzo-soprano, who will perform in Rigoletto this season, both current Adler Fellows with San Francisco’s Opera, will provide a thrilling finale to our season. Join us for a fabulous afternoon of lovely music, delicious wine, desserts, and pastries during our annual fundraiser. *Unfortunately, Daniel Montenegro recently moved out of the area and will be unable to perform on our series this season.
