Opening Performance - October 12, 2008 4:00 p.m. AVE - St. Francis of Assisi: Musical Musings on a World Order

The Artists’ Vocal Ensemble will fête our city’s namesake and advocate for peace with Renaissance and contemporary works from Europe and America. This choral group, directed by acclaimed early music specialist Jonathan Dimmock, will be sure to delight.

These well-respected Bay Area musicians have come together to form the San Francisco Piano Quartet. SFPQ will present an exciting way of exploring chamber music repertoire in their “Six Degrees” series. Connecting the dots between music, composers and history, they will explore American themes in Dvořák, Gershwin, Shostakovich, and Rebecca Clarke.
