You’ll never hear music the same way again after having Rob Kapilow as your brilliant musical tour guide. This program explores one of the seminal works of late twentieth-century concert music: SHAKER LOOPS by John Adams.
The string septet on hand to play the work features returning NVCM favorites the St Lawrence String Quartet, Adams’s “favorite string quartet,” plus the composer’s son, Guggenheim-award-winning composer Sam Adams, and daughter-in-law Helen Kim, associate principal second violin of the San Francisco Symphony, as well as the greatly admired SF cellist Robert Howard.
Did you know? NVCM provides complimentary babysitting for our youngest music fans at all Sundays at Four performances.
Join us for a post-concert reception with the artists.
