with Rob kapilow

featuring the St Lawrence string quartet, Helen kim, robert Howard, and samuel carl adams

You’ll never hear music the same way again after having Rob Kapilow as your brilliant musical tour guide. This program explores one of the seminal works of late twentieth century concert music—SHAKER LOOPS by John Adams.

The string septet on hand to play the work features returning favorites SLSQ, Adams’s “favorite string quartet,” plus the composer’s son, Guggenheim-award-winning composer Sam Adams, and daughter-in-law Helen Kim, associate principal second violin of the San Francisco Symphony, as well as the greatly admired SF cellist Robert Howard.
